Wordsworth's concept
William Wordsworth is well known poet and critic of Romantic age. Let's discuss his definition of poetry and Concept:
■ Definition of poetry:
poetry is origin from emotion recollected in tranquility. Wordsworth gives definition of poetry. He discuss about four stages through which an experience passes and a successful composition takes place.
■ First is the observation of some object,character or Incident which sets up powerful emotions in the mind of poet.
■ Secondly, There is recollection of that emotion in tranquility.
■Thirdly, The interaction of memory by the poet sets up emotion in the mind itself.
■ Forthly is that of composition.
It's definition of poetry by William Wordsworth. Now, we discuss about his another concept 'what is poet?'
In the preface of " Lyrical Ballads" , Wordsworth asks the question " What is poet?" to clarify role and nature of poet in society. By asking " What is poet?" , Wordsworth sought to emphasize that poets are not just skilled writers of verse but individuals who possess a deep understanding of human nature and a unique ability to convey that understanding through Their art.
Wordsworth believed that a poet is someone who has a greater sensitivity to emotions and the ability to express those emotions in a way that resonates with others. According to Wordsworth, " Is a man speaking to men who communicates universal truths and emotions through a language that is simple, direct and rooted in everyday life."
