Aristotle' s Concept
2. Aristotle gives definition of Tragedy in his work 'Poetics'. Hello wrote about Six elements of tragedy According to him , 'Tragedy than is an imitation of an action which is serious, complete and of certain mas.' The action which is serious and tragic which can't be perform without tragic hero. It is not the capacity of funny character to perform high and noble. So Aristotle offers the sketch of Tragic Hero. * Characteristics of Tragic Hero 1. The function of tragedy is to evoke pity and fear. The character of tragic hero which successfully arises the feeling of pain and suffering.The downfall of a wicked person,the feeling of pity and fear fail to arouse. * For Example: In Shakespeare's ' The Merchant of Venice ' , Shylock suffer in the end of the play . 2. According to Aristotle Too good character can also not be a tragic hero in tragedy. ...
